A place where I will put stuff that doesn't neatly fit into any other catagories and where I will do my best to keep bad spelling and typos down to a bare minimum. :)

1. Grab the nearest book
2. Open the book to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog, along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it. Just grab what is closest!

"Oh, 'elp us, somebeast. Ahoohoohoo!"
Taking the club away from the male, Tagg picked him up and sat him down next to his blubbering partner.
"Hush now, marm, I'm not going to murder or eat either of you."

From Taggerrug by Brain Jacques

I was kinda surprised to see that there weren't any books on the 'puter desk. I had to tip back in my chair and grab the nearest book off the bookshelf behind me.

I found this fun little exercise on another blog whose name escapes me at the moment. They had found it at another blog, who'd found it at another blog. I never did track down just exactly where it had originally started at and ,sadly, I've lost exactly where I found it from so I can't post a link :( It'd be fun to keep the blog hopscotch going.

"It's ok baby... Don't worry... It was just meat."

Its not everyday one receives an email begining with a sentence like that one.

Yesterday was pretty productive. I got almost everything on my list done.
Yesterday was also Presidents Day. So, after finding all our documentation, hubby leaving work early and driving all the way over there, we find out that federal offices are closed for the "holiday". Big, fat, DUH. No mail, no federal offices, I think those were the only 2 businesses closed here. Even the schools were open, they were making up a snow day.

What didn't get done?
1. I still need that shower. eeeeewww.
2. The recycles are sitting in my dining room.
3. Offsprings rooms are still a mess, but thats pretty par for the course around here. 2 of the 3 of them still need to do laundry, but again, thats normal.

We called the auto insurance to see how much it will cost us to insure soon-to-be-16 year old son. Its actually affordable. I'm not ready to have a son driving. I'm not ready to be old enough to have a son old enough to drive. Its bad enough I've got two who shave or should shave. I kept looking at son#2 (13) this weekend and thinking he had a chocolate milk mustache. Upon closer investigation I find out its not chocolate milk he needs to wipe off his face, he needs to SHAVE.

Anyone interested as to what the "To-Do" list of a Midwest Homemaker looks like?

1. Finish my laundry
2. Run the vacuum in the living and dining room
3. Tidy up my bedroom
4. Nag the offspring to tidy up theirs.
5. Nag the offspring to do their laundry
6. Find an old report card for offspring#1 as he needs a new ss card and his father is taking him to the ss office this afternoon (hopefully before it closes) to get one.
7. Sort the recycles, load in back of van, take to recycle bins
8. Possible go through the school shelf and re-organize it with the hopes of getting some sort of documentation of everything we've done, read, studied this year started.
9. Tidy up the linen closet
10. Mop the kitchen floor
11. Take a shower, wash my hair and change out of this lovely little outfit of purple flannel pj pants and Toby Keith "I love this bar" t-shirt.
12. Figure out supper, most likely going to be Sloppy Joes, pack and freeze pork chops .

That's long.
But I did ab-sooo-lutely nothing yesterday but sit and watch the Daytona 500 (whooooo-hooooo!!! Go Gordon!!!) and I'll get the kids to pitch in and do some/alot of it.

2 weeks worth of illness in my household has certainly decreased my blogging.

The kids and I have all been struck with some nasty virus that hits hard and takes its sweet time going away. I've been sick a week and every time I think my symptoms are easing and I am getting better the virus seems to strike up an attack on yet another body part. I've gone from sinus problems, to a sore throat, coughing, earache and now I seem to be getting laryngitis. Will it ever end? I despise being sick.

Valentines Day plans at our house this evening include a big, fancy supper. Steaks on the grill and a dessert of chocolate fondue. YUMMY!
Plus I splurged on a bottle of REAL champagne, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label. I'm hoping it will be good, it cost me an arm and a leg.
