Comments: "...I got 2 reds, #528 timeless ruby and #521 eternal flame. Same exact product as the lipfinity different colored packaging. Price was $9.50. Lipfinity sells at the same store for $11.97 (i think).

Anyways, as usual the color on the box is not even close to what it looks like in the tube and the color in the tube isn't accurate as to how it will look on your lips. It even swatches differently on my hand than how it looks on my lips.

521 Eternal Flame is a cool red color with lots of gold shimmer. Reminds me of [Maybelline Moisture Whip] Love Spells but with shimmer. On the bright side and too cool for my taste.

528 Timeless Ruby looks almost like a plum in the tube but goes on a rich warmer red. It's still a cool red but warmer than the 521. has some shimmer in it but not really noticeable. This one is a keeper. It's not my perfect shade of red but it will do. It doesn't transfer and for that fact alone I'll wear it. I think that's why I stopped wearing red lipsticks. I got so sick of wiping it off of everything from my coffee cups to my kids!

...The staying power of this stuff is awesome and best of all NO getting lipstick marks all over everything. I applied a coat at around 3 this afternoon. It's now almost 10pm and it's still going strong! It's lasted through a cup of creme caramel cappuccino, supper of sausage, sauerkraut and pastaroni, and 3 bottles of Dasani water without budging!"

Comments: I have really been wanting to try the Cover Girl Outlast. So hard to decide on colors! I wanted Brazen Raisin, a creamy, brownish red color, but the package looked as if it had been tampered with. I finally decided on "Long Last Bronze" and Mauve something or other.

I tried the Bronze tonight. It does have that weird dry feeling while you're waiting to put the gloss on. But then with the gloss, it feels fine. I really like the color--a bronzey brown with gold shimmer. It works with my coloring, doesn't look orangey or anything. It lasted through dinner, although it had faded somewhat. This may be because I didn't wait the full 60 seconds after applying before putting on the gloss.

I am eager to try the Mauve shade tomorrow. Also, I really want to go back and get this pretty reddish color, Ruby something and another one called Red Flame or something similar. Sorry, I am just not good at remembering names. You have all probably noticed that about me by now! The Ruby was a pretty, shimmery ruby red and the Red Flame was a more burnt red color. The Brazen Raisin will be on my list for fall.

The best part? These were on sale for 4.99 apiece, including a little bottle of CG Eye Makeup Remover! So I got two for the price of one, essentially.

...I am eager to see how the Outlast performs through a full day tomorrow. I can see this being a boon to my day when school starts in the fall. I never have time to even put on lipstick at work! So if this works, I will be very happy.

[Later]

The jury is still out on this one...I like the concept. I'm just not sure if I like the texture. You definitely have to keep applying that balm every 2-3 hours, which, granted, is easier than applying lipstick. I just hope my lips don't dry out!

The Long Last Bronze is a good shade for me; I'll keep it. "Iced Mauve" has to go back to the store, though. It is too cool even for me, and a sort of odd muddy mauve color. It clashes with my skin. I am still hoping to get the Brazen Raisin and maybe one of the reds eventually, though.

One complaint about packaging: the little applicator really collects too much product. You have to wipe it on a tissue, thereby wasting a good deal of the lipstick. They need to come up with a tighter funnel for the neck of the tube or something.

Comments: I got some CG Outlasts and they are fantastic!!! why did I wait so long trying them? how did I live without them???!

I got "Dawn-to-Dusk" and "Cinnamon Stick" to start with ($7.77 at Target, $7.99 at Longs). DTD is great, it's a medium muted pink, no fuchsia, no shimmer. CS I had to return, it was *not* the dark, rich warm cherrywood color I was hoping for, it went on a nice dark ugly fuchsia.

And that is another thing about this kind of lipstick, you can't alter it the same way you can regular lipsticks...sheering it with lip balm, melting it with lip balm, or applying it as a stain. So I'll have to steer clear of the dark shades, personally.

In fact DTD, unlike all the CG lipsticks I've tried previously, is actually a good color in its own right. It's muted without being drab or overly brown, it has little notes of peach and plum (not as much as Jane "Loco Cocoa" but it's something!), and best of all the dang thing lasts...not from dawn to dusk, not until you take it off, but it lasts very respectably at least eight hours through eating, washing face, etc. with nary a touchup.

I applied it carefully, wiping as much lipstick as possible back into the tube first. I did my upper lip first and smooshed my lips together to color the bottom lip. The stuff stays wet long enough for you to dab in any places that didn't get colored this way.

I haven't tried the topcoat yet...I'm using my heavy duty beeswax, non-petroleum Lip Trip lip balm with it. I suspect the lipstick would last longer with its original topcoat, but the Lip Trip lasts for hours itself and my lips don't feel dry.

Interestingly, if you don't put anything on top of it, it feels just like those long-last lipsticks...in a word, dry.

Well I exchanged "Cinnamon Stick" for "Berry Preserve" ...it was a toss-up between that and "Ginger Ale," a light coffee brown with shimmer...B.P. is a lovely berry shade, no fuchsia, no shimmer. In fact I think I might like it even better than DTD.

These are all the Outlasts I'm going to try...I'd like to get a Lipfinity or even two? I have my eye on "Spiritual." I suspect the MF colors are a tad more complex than CG...that may just be prejudice talking though.

Comments: "I had been eyeing this product for a long time but I wasn't sure it was worth the $7-8 it was priced. After it went on sale, I picked it up (for $4.80).

The bottle is plastic, round, and easy to hold. Color is pretty (IMHO) a peach color, transparent. I got home, and that evening tried it out.

Wow. It's like washing your face with shaving cream! (When the bottle said "foaming cleanser" I assumed that you put it on your hand, lathered it, and *that's* when it began foaming.) Once I got used to the sensation, it wasn't bad at all -- it smells OK (not as good as the cleansing stick however) and a little bit goes a long way.

I used a moisturizer after it the first day, and not the second day. I don't think I need a moisturizer, I found it a little strong, and think I will be content washing with this stuff once a day. It took off all my makeup, BTW."

Comments: "HIT! Loreal's new So Delice lipstick in Coffee Blast. Nice color, a really smooth cafe au lait tan. My lips pink everything up so it turns a beautiful nude pink/brown on me. This is SO smooth and creamy feeling on. It's fruity scented, not at all the traditional Loreal perfumey smell though. Almost reminds me of how the old strawberry shortcake dolls that I used to play with when I was little smelled. Sheer but not too sheer and nice and shiny and moist looking on my lips. I've got a bunch of $1.00 off coupons around here somewhere, I'm going back for more of these! I should have saved my money on those da** Outlasts and bought a bunch of these instead!"

i just wish they would use non-chemical sunscreens, dammit! i think i am allergic to those chemical ones..."

Comments: "I have Tropical Punch, which is more like sangria (sheer mid-tone wine color without frost) and Raspberry Smoothie, a reddish berry shade with shimmer. I would describe these as semi-sheer. They wear much longer than most sheer lipsticks."

Comments: "I bought 'Bare' which turns out to be more of an orangish dark mauve (please someone else help me with this color description...I am no good with describing colors). However, this color fuchsia'ed on me. After applying the paint there is a slight smell. Then it dries on your lips and you feel like licking them. So you rush for the moisturizer which helps. It did dry out my lips and made them flakey even though I reapplied the moisturizer about 4 times during the day. It did last all day though! For this I was pleasantly surprised."

Comments: "Lipfinity 180 Spiritual -YES! a nice color. far, far better than the first one i tried (delicious, a violet-nude). $10.79@Meijer w/$1.00 off sale on MF products. A nice pink/brown. The entire permanent display was up and full. Not overly thrilled with the color choices. The box ends in noway resemble what the color looks like in the tube and the color in the tube isn't a good indicator of what it looks like on one's lips."

Comments: "I was in Rite-Aid yesterday, perusing the W&W display which is way in the back of the store. My eyes wandered up and there sitting on top of the display was a Lipfinity display, fully stocked with all the colors. I selected Bare; I think the shades are oddly named for what their appearance is.

Anyway, Bare is actually a soft terracotta, and I actually like the color because I'm always in the market for orangish lippies. I applied the color moderately, allowed it to dry, and then covered it with the gloss. I noticed it had that strong Lip Ink odor, but it disappeared shortly. I liked the look--the pigment was medium toned and had a soft filmy look.

Here's the puzzling part--I lay down to read and take a quick nap, and when I awoke several hours later, the color was barely there!! The intensity was about one half to one third of its original appearance. Then, later in the evening as I prepared to shower, I checked it again and all that was left was a thin line around the edge of my lips, like liner. After my shower, during which I washed my face with my Cetaphil clone, it was essentially all gone.

So, this stuff did not wear much better than some of my other long-lasting lippies. I did not experience terrible dryness, as some others here have reported, but it's definitely a little on the dry side."

Comments: "I bought 2 colors, 120 a pinky/red called Hot & 160 a greyish/pink/brown called Iced Glacee. I am not happy w/the colors I bought, they looked deceptively different in the container.

I can say that it does last quite well w/just one problem. It wears off on the center of my bottom lip giving me what my husband calls "earthworm lips."

I will keep trying this, it's not going to be what I thought it was but I will experiment w/it, maybe try layering other lipsticks or lipgloss over it. It will be perfect for days when I really need my color to stay on..."

Comments: "I got #35 today and it is a very pretty pink. I am very happy w/it. It kind of reminds me of BB Pink Berry Stain but a little pinker. It will be great for spring/summer."

Comments: "I got one more color, #180. It's a great neutral/warm brown & I think I even detected some very slight gold shimmer to it. I've worn this the last few days w/lipliner & lipstick over it and it really enhances whatever color you use w/it. Plus, when that wears off you still have your Lipfinity left all day. I think it's pretty cool stuff."
